ICMPC 10 Archive

▼ ICMPC 10 Archive Page

This website provides general information about ICMPC10 (the 10th International Conference on Music Perception and Cognition), held 25-29 August 2008, Sapporo, Japan. Within this site you will find access to the conference report, the list of presenters, the program, the abstract booklet, and other information. Organizing a conference is a monumental task, it is hoped that this information might be useful to the future organizers of ICMPC and/or any other international conference.

This archive represents one of the two major international contributions made by JSMPC (the Japanese Society for Music Perception and Cognition). The other one was ICMPC 1, the inaugural meeting of ICMPC, held 17-19 October 1989, Kyoto Japan. JSMPC also organized the first research exchanges among Australia, Korea, and Japan during the 2001 Spring Meeting of JSMPC, Fukuoka, Japan, as an inaugural event for APSCOM (the Asia-Pacific Society for Cognitive Sciences of Music).

This electronic archival project is a part of our efforts to compile the foundation and the history of JSMPC, supervised by Sonoko Kuwano (Professor Emeritus, Osaka University) under the leadership of JSMPC President, Yoko Oura (Professor, Niigata University). We hope that JSMPC will continue playing a significant role in the ever-developing research field, music perception and cognition.
